Letter from the 2000-2001 Class President
November 19, 2001
Dear J/22 Sailors:
The USA J/22 Class had a very successful year starting with the Mid-Winters at Southern Yacht Club, North Americans at Rochester Yacht Club and the inaugural Rolex International Women’s Keelboat Championship sailed in J/22 for the first time. All these events were very well attended. I have no doubt that the successes were earned by the dedication and hard work of our fellow J/22 sailors. Congratulations!
The Class Office has several challenges ahead. After so many years of dedicated service to our Class, Galen Freeman announced his retirement in running the Class Office. We are indebted to the Freemans’ contributions and successes to our Class over the years. Galen promised he would continue to participate in future regattas. Please say thanks to Galen (and his family) when you see him again.
The Executive Committee has approved the relocation of our Class Office headed by Chris Howell. The USA J/22 Class Office is now located at:
We will rely on our website to distribute information such as a membership roster and regatta schedule for the upcoming year, listing of measurement certificates, classified ads and much more. Please visit us often!
I am glad to announce the USA J/22 Executive Officers for 2002:
I must express my sincere gratitude to all the dedicated J/22 sailors who make our Class great. I am also thankful to have had the opportunity to serve our Class and to meet so many wonderful sailors.
