The Dutch J/22 Class Association, in cooperation with the WSV Braassemermeer and the ISCM in Medemblik, is preparing for the J/22 2005 World Championship, to be held from July 1-9 at the ISCM in Medemblik.
After successful J/22 Worlds in The Netherlands in 1995 and in 2000, the Dutch Class is eager to continue this tradition. With 60 participating boats in 1995 and 93 in 2000, they now expect to set a new J/22 record of more than 100 participating boats. Teams are expected from the Cayman Islands, South Africa, the United States, Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and more.
For those sailors who decide to charter a brand new J/22 for the regatta, Sailing1 design bv in cooperation with J/Boats Italy offer a brand new J/22 (Boido) with measurement certificate, safety equipment, Harken equipment and Hall Spars mast. The boat will be ready in Medemblik four days before the start of the World Championship. The charter fee before March 30 is 2500,00 euro. The insurance charge is 250,00 euro (own risk 1000,00 euro). After this date, the organizers cannot guarantee new boats. Only limited boats are available (8-10 boats), but overseas sailors have priority. Sailors have to bring their own sails. If applicable, charter boats may carry a sponsor name from the organization.
