A meeting of the membership of the U.S. J/22 Class Association will be held during the Midwinter Championship, February 12-15, at the Southern Yacht Club, New Orleans, LA. The precise date and time will be announced at the regatta. The principal purpose of the meeting will be to elect Class Officers for 2004.
President Rob Johnston and the rest of the 2002-2003 Class Officers have been acting in their former capacities since their terms ended on October 31. The Nominating Committee has recommended the following to act as officers for 2004:
President: Joe Gibbs
1st Vice President: Chris Princing
2nd Vice President: Chris Doyle
Chief Measurer: Tom Linville
Treasurer/Secretary: Peter U
U.S. Technical Committee Chair: Lars Hansen
Nominating Committee Chair: Kelson Elam
It is noted that two of the positions to be filled were created by decisions of the officers in those positions to retire after many years of service to the Class. The other position was made available when the U.S. Technical Committee Chair moved on to fill a similar position in the International Class.
