Dates Set for 2003 J/22 World Championship
It's time again to make those new year's resolutions. In addition to the usual goals to lose weight and stop smoking, why not also consider some sailing aspirations for 2003? Take yourself and your crew to the next level by competing at the next J/22 World Championship. Remember, the J/22 Class extends an open invitation for any and all teams to participate on the international stage.
The next J/22 World Championship will be held in Porto san Rocco (Trieste) from October 12-19, 2003. The event promises to be an excellent international championship, with 12 charter boats provided for participants. In Porto san Rocco, they will be disposable for the crew coming overseas and later for European ones.
On October 12, Trieste will also host the famous "Barcolana," a regatta with more than 1,900 participating boats. Although J/22s cannot participate because they do not meet the weight requirements, the crews are welcome to sail in the event. The organizing committee can arrange a place on board the bigger boats, but you'll need to decide early, as the committee will need to make the appropriate plans in advance. This famous regatta will be an important promotional event for our Class.
